That the Yankees have not relied heavily on their farm system in recent years is not news. The climate around the Bronx seemed to change this season, though, as the Bombers moved more in a direction of promoting from within rather than looking toward other organizations for help. Robinson Cano, Chien-Ming Wang, Aaron Small and, to a lesser degree, Melky Cabrera all had an impact on New York this season. And with several prospects, such as Eric Duncan, Jeff Karstens and Matt DeSalvo moving their way up through the ranks, it wouldn't be a surprise to see several more youngsters in pinstripes within the next year or so.
