Not sure about this one. Seems Dotel won't be available until at least mid season. Sounds a lot like the Leiber deal they gave a few years ago.

True, but this contract is full of performance incentives. Plus, it seems that every year, our bullpen is dead by September. Maybe if this guy doesn't start until mid-season, he will be fresh come playoff time!

Hey, this guy is a former closer. I like the move.

Our bullpen now is: Small, Sturtze, Villone, Myers, Dotel, Farnsworth, Rivera

This may be the best pen we've had in 4 years.

Gotta love this deal. Dotel could be a real shot in the arm in the 2nd half. Guys throw harder after Tommy John surgery, and Dotel has healed better than average.

Not sure so about the current bullpen as a whole though. Farnsworth should be okay, and Myers is a nice lefty specialist (if that's your thing) but Villone is junk, Sturtze I'm not convinced about, and who knows what Small does: did he learn to pitch in 2005, or was he pitching over his head? But I think, unless Dotel returns early and effectively, we'll once again see the Yanks struggle to get the ball to Farns/Mo. Lets hope the rotation can eat some innings.

Just saw in an article this week that Sturtze's arm was still giving him trouble. Gotta worry about that one!!!

I like Villone...at least compared to Stanton, Franklin, Groom and Embree from last year. I guess we're going to see if Leiter can pitch as a LH specialist role this year too.

I hear u on that one.  We need Sturtze to throw 70-90 innings this year to take the load off Farnsworth and Rivera.  Oh...did I mention we need him to be effective.
